2026 is about sleep for me - valuing it and not depriving myself of it

accepting winter has been part of that too. i’m still figuring out what i need so i can actually be outside without feeling like i’m trapped in a million layers. beck has been really sweet about it - heated blankets, hand warmers, and just trying to help make it easier on my body.

we looked into daycare for opy and then immediately decided against it - waaaaayyy too many horror stories. it basically confirmed for us that we’re just going to orient our lives around this dog even more lol.

i’ve also been realizing how switching context gears costs more energy than i thought. so i’ve been grouping life into lanes (home/admin/animals/music/etc.) and trying to stay in one lane longer instead of pinballing all day.

on the house side, we’ve been doing small upgrades like smart bulbs + adaptive lighting that have been a genuine quality-of-life upgrade, and beck loves voice control for lights. smart plugs have been great too (especially for seasonal lights). next up is light strips behind the tv and and toe-kick / under-cabinet in the kitchen.

i’ve been doing a ton in capacities - moving things out of icloud + google drive, tagging, linking, sorting, tightening. it’s where everything lives now and it helps with my memory gaps and my pattern brain.

i’ve been trying to post here about once a week. i’m also gonna try to keep this page updated monthly. it feels insanely good to have one place that holds the things i’m making and learning.

tax season is here, so i’m in full ops mode for bwb - pipelines, intake forms and organizers, engagement letters, all the backend stuff that should keep things running smoothly.

i have eight tracks tentatively picked for the cover album. but honestly, i avoid it a lot because it makes me stupidly uncomfortable. but i guess i still want to do music, though, because i keep circling to it?

i would looooveeee to drum again, but townhouse life makes that complicated.
