written in a windowless basement, dreaming up a future with beck. the acoustic 2022 version grew into the spacious album cut on second half
i wrote this one in a basement. no windows, no light - just me dreaming of the future i wanted with beck.
the original version came out in february 2022 as a surprise - super stripped down - just acoustic guitar and voice. on second half it’s bigger, layered, more spacious. it feels like what the dreaming turned into.
i’m usually stuck in the past. i live in memory. i replay moments. i romanticize them. being present is hard for me and imagining the future is usually even harder.
falling in love with beck changed how i see time. they're in every version of a future that feels safe. and somehow that made the future feel real… and now, we dream together.
