in march 2023 i did an instagram live with brad klausman about leaving high-intensity church spaces, burning out during covid, naming adoption trauma, and deconstruction.

we talked about how i grew up in pentecostal/charismatic settings and then went all-in on ministry, how covid made the workload heavier instead of lighter, and how a sabbatical made earlier trauma visible.

we got into what happened to community once i started saying doubts out loud, the leftover purity-culture rules that still show up, and how choosing my life with beck was part of the same exit.

we also sat in the “you actually get to choose now” piece, because that’s a big part of deconstruction.
